Export Formats
Picaro supports exporting generated documents in DOCX, PDF, or both formats.
DOCX export
Section titled “DOCX export”Generates an editable Word document. The output preserves the formatting from your original template.
When to use DOCX
Section titled “When to use DOCX”- You need to make further edits after generation
- The recipient needs an editable document
- Your workflow requires Word-compatible output
PDF export
Section titled “PDF export”Generates a fixed-layout PDF document. The output looks consistent across all devices and viewers.
PDF options

PDF engine choices

Export both
Section titled “Export both”When you select Both, Picaro generates a DOCX file and a PDF file for each document. Both files are saved to the output folder.
Output naming
Section titled “Output naming”Configure how exported files are named using field values:
{{client_name}}_{{document_type}}_{{date}}The output folder can be configured in Settings.
