Installation

Picaro is a desktop application built with Electron. It runs on your local machine and stores all data locally.

System requirements

• Windows, macOS, or Linux
• 4 GB RAM minimum
• 500 MB free disk space

Download

Download the latest version of Picaro from the official website or the releases page.

Installation steps

1. Download the installer for your operating system
2. Run the installer
3. Follow the on-screen prompts
4. Launch Picaro

First launch

On first launch, Picaro will:

• Create a local data directory for templates and settings
• Show the main dashboard
• Prompt you to import your first template

Legacy .doc support

If you need to import older .doc files, Picaro includes a guided compatibility flow powered by LibreOffice. See Legacy .doc Support for details.
